Christmas Mitzvah 2015

For over 18 years, Hebrew Senior Care’s Volunteer Resources Department has put together a successful Christmas Mitzvah Program and this year was no different. The program asked individuals in the community to volunteer at Hebrew Senior Care so staff members that celebrate Christmas could take time off to be with their families during the holiday.

Ruthan Wein, Director of Volunteer Resources, dedicated months of planning and approximately 118 volunteers came to assist in different activities and jobs during the day. Some of the jobs included passing out meals, working in The Main Street Café and in the gift shop, assisting with recreation programs, delivering clean laundry to the residents’ rooms, and doing some clerical work for different offices. The volunteers came in all different shapes and sizes from single volunteers to families, animal volunteers, and a few of Hebrew Senior Care’s Board members were in force throughout the facility.
