Dr. Ava Pannullo

Dr. Ava Pannullo is the Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care.  Dr. Pannullo is also the Director of Connecticut Geriatric Specialty Group; Hebrew Senior Care's physician practice.  Dr. Pannullo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics and has been with Hebrew Senior Care since 1993.

Dr. Pannullo earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, and graduated from the UMDNJ. She also completed her residency at the UMDNJ, and earned a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from the University Of Connecticut Travelers Center on Aging.


Dr. Harold Sandals

Dr. Harold Sandals is the Hebrew Senior Care, Hospital Attending Physician and Medical Director for Hebrew Senior Care, Home Health & Hospice since 2013.

Dr. Harold Sandals has 20 years experience as a nursing home Medical Director at Woodlake at Tolland. He also served as the medical director of North Central Hospice in Vernon for 30 years. He was a founding member of the Academy of Hospice Physicians. 

His interests are in hospice and palliative medicine, and medical ethics. In addition to his role as staff physician, he serves as Medical Director for Hebrew Health Hospice. He has a B.A. in biology from Clark University, earning his M.D. degree as a member of the third graduating class of the University of Connecticut, School of Medicine. He completed a 4 year Yale affiliated residency in Primary Care at Bridgeport Hospital. He practiced for 25 years with Tolland Family Medicine. He oversees the medical care of residents on three skilled nursing units.


Heidi Haller, APRN

Heidi Haller, APRN, provides healthcare to long-term care residents and short-term rehabilitation patients at Hebrew Senior Care. In collaboration with the attending physicians, Ms. Haller manages the residents/patients chronic and acute medical conditions.

Ms. Haller has been an APRN at Hebrew Senior Care since 2006. Prior to her current position she was a staff nurse at Hebrew Senior Care, Hospital. While pursuing her Masters in Nursing, she worked as a staff nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Ms. Haller has a BS from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and received her RN and MSN from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. Ms. Haller is certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and has been published in The Consultant. Over the past year she has mentored Nurse Practitioner students from both University of Connecticut and Yale University.
