“My yesterdays are disappearing, and my tomorrows are uncertain, so what do I live for? I live for each day. I live for the moment…I will forget today, but that doesn’t mean that today doesn’t matter." -Dr. Alice Howland, Still Alice, by Lisa Genova, a book and film documenting the hardships of early-onset Alzheimer’s.
Are you committed to compassionate, comprehensive healthcare services focused on the specific needs of older adults? If so, you’ve found the place for your philanthropic passion: Hebrew HealthCare!
Who we are
In 1901, a group of tenacious women recognized that the Hartford community needed a nursing home for the elderly. They resolved to collect a nickel a week from members of their community until they collected the $1,000 necessary to purchase a 17-room house on 33 Wooster Street.
What we do
Every day for the next 18 years, 8,000 more Baby Boomers will turn 65. Our mission has never be more relevant to our community. Solving these new healthcare challenges on behalf of the Boomers and their parents requires innovative solutions, dedicated expertise, and timely philanthropic investments.
What you can do
Your donation will continue the century-old partnership between Hebrew HealthCare and the philanthropic community. Giving is personal — uncover your philanthropic passion today. Our Development Team is here to help and we look forward to hearing from you.
